Captain Ron Hamlin is a legend in the world of sport fishing and is on the Pro Staff of Shimano. Among his long list of records, Ron currently holds the record for the most billfish caught in one season at 2,809, set in October 2006 in Guatemala. That same year he set the record for the most sailfish released in one day at 124. Ron was also awarded the top tag and release captain in the Pacific by The Billfish Foundation in 2007, an award he has won 10 years in a row. Ron usually books out a year in advance. Captain Haron Valdez
Captain Haron Valdez started working for Ron Hamlin in 1994 when we brought the Gypsy here from Costa Rica. Haron later worked as a mate on the Captain Hook and helped deliver the boat to Guatemala in 1996. He moved on to become the Captain of the Magic where he set the one day record on Fly of 22 in one day. He later ran the Captain Hook when Ron Hamlin was out of the country or needed days off. On the Captain Hook he set the new 1 day record on bait of 83 sailfish in one day. Haron is a great fisherman and has extensive billfish experience. Captain "Kiwi" Chris van Leeuwen
Better known as "Kiwi Chris", and formerly at the helm of "Coyote II"
out of Fins'n Feathers in Guatemala, Chris is now the captain of the
Allure. Kiwi, as you can imagine, hails from New Zealand where he started
his career in the charter industry. Fishing out of the North Islands East
coast lead to successive MMSFC National Titles in ´98 and ´99 and success
in the 2000 Blue Water Classic.
Traveling for the last several years, he saw a personal goal achieved
in fishing the prolific Eastern Pacific waters which included a year in
the Galapagos Islands chasing the large numbers of big striped marlin and
blues. For the last 5 years he has been based out of Guatemala's West
Coast which has been an extremely rewarding experience that only Guatemala
can give. Chris has an impressive tournament record in Guatemala and is
one of the nicest and most professional captains you will ever fish with.

Fishy Business - The Fishy Business is a 2003, 36 foot, Jersey Cape custom sportfisherman, equipped with 2006 Cat C-7, 460 hp engines. Captain Tito
The Fishy Business is captained by Cristobal de Jesus Mora Falla. Captain Cristobal or as he's better known, Captain Tito, has been in Guatemala since 1994. He came here from Costa Rico as the mate on the Magic for Capt John LaGrone. He was the solo mate when the Magic set the one year record for the most Billfish in a single season. He continued mating until 2005 when he took over as Captain of the Maverick. Now in 2007, he's taken over the helm of the Fishy Business which is operating under the Pacific Fin's Resort management. Tito is an excellent marlin and sailfishing captain. His pleasant and professional personality will make your day on the water an exceptional experience.

Circle Hook -The Circle Hook (previously named the Captain Hook) is a 43 ft. Willis made
famous by Captain Ron Hamlin. The boat is powered by twin Cummins diesels, and
was built in North Carolina by master boat builders. Their wooden hulls produce
a low rumbling sound notorious for raising billfish. The Circle Hook's ability
to raise fish is proven by the many records it has set for numbers of fish
caught in one day and one year.
Captain Eddie Bairez
Eddie went to work on the Captain Hook in 1998 and worked with Ron Hamlin through the 2006 season before leaving to be the Capt. of the Maverick. During the time he was on the Captain Hook he helped release over 15,000 billfish and tagged over 7,000 billfish. Eddie ran the Captain Hook when Captain Hamlin needed time off. "Nobody knows how I fish better than Eddie" says Captain Hamlin. "He helped set many records and I expect him to continue setting them in the future."

Full Circle -The Full Circle is a 1974 Classic 31 Bertram. The boat was refit in 2002
with twin 375 HP Cat's and is capable of speeds in excess of 30 knots. During
the summer of 2007 the boat is being totally updated from a maintenance and
cosmetic standpoint and will enter the 2007 - 2008 season as the nicest boat
in the marina in its class. The Full Circle is equipped with first class
tackle and Gerry and his mates are experienced at both bait fishing and fly
fishing. The atmosphere on the boat is fun and will no doubt produce many
great memories.
Captain Gerry Jordon
Captain Gerry Jordan has extensive experience in commercial and charter
fishing. He has fished the northern pacific coast and also ran charters for
several years in Maui, fishing for tuna, wahoo, and billfish. In recent years
Gerry fished out of the Rio Dulce area, running fishing and diving charters
in Belize and Honduras. Since 2005 Gerry has been fishing the pacific coast
of Guatemala for sailfish and marlin and he also been very successful
targeting Roosterfish inshore.

Perla de Mare -The Perla de Mare is a 1998, 37 foot Bertram with twin caterpillar 430`s, air conditioning, full galley for preparing hot food, and top of the line electronics. She is a fast boat with a top speed of 24 knots an hour, and a cruising speed of 20 knots. This boat is in brand new condition and is very well maintained.
Captain Marcial Fajardo Ruiz
Captain Marcial Fajardo Ruiz is one of the best local captains in the Guatemalan fleet. He started working as a second mate in 1994, together with Haron Valdez. One year later he went to work aboard the Gypsy as their first mate with Captain Carlos Diaz.
In 1998 he transferred to the Inter Price as captain and this same year travelled to Costa Rica to participate as a captain in their fishing tournament.
His two best fishing days have been: 1) 68 sail fish released and 16 caught on the fly and 2) a Grand Slam including black and blue marlin, along with a sailfish.
He's also caught 14 rooster fish in one day with live bait. Capt. Ruiz has been a boat captain for the last 9 years, and is an expert fishing the Guatemalan waters.
